3. What is a Network? What are the characteristics of local area networks? Explain various
network topologies.
4. What are the advantages and shortcomings of obtaining information about a candidate
system from each of these sources: Vendors, Current Users, Demonstration, introductory
course, trial use, benchmark, and listing services?
5. Explain various types of computer viruses. What measures should be taken to protect the
system from viruses.
